So my knee has been resting for nearly a week now, and yesterday I realised it hadn't hurt at all either that day or the day before, so I decided to risk it and go to the gym. I repeated W4 D1 to see how I went on, but was sensible and did my warm-up on the bike instead of trying to jog.
Really pleased with the result - I improved on my last attempt, so my fitness obviously hasn't suffered despite my injury. I increased the resistance on the bike from 5 to 6 which meant that I cycled slightly less distance (2.34km vs 2.62km last week) but I also burnt up the 50 kcal in less time (4:58 minutes vs 5:39 minutes last week). I got my heart rate up to 177 maximum - not sure if this is good or bad, but I was definitely working hard ... I could hardly get off the bike at the end of the session and had to sit down for a few minutes before my jelly legs had recovered enough to walk to the changing room!
